‘I realised I must make images, not take photos’
“When I was working in interiors, I was in total control of the light,” he said. “Then I went to Bagan for a shoot ... .. and the natural, beautiful light was not mine to switch on or off.” So he made several long journeys into the heart of the country in the company of an artist named Thaw Zin who worked as his assistant, but who opened Zaw’s eyes to the delights of natural light.
